Think Beyond the Can

Community Support Initiative: Meal in a Bag Donation Drive
The J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library's Think Beyond the Can, is a year-round community food support initiative designed to address ongoing food insecurity among families in Appomattox County, Virginia. Through a simple yet effective Meal in a Bag model, the program provides families with complete ingredient kits and recipes that enable them to prepare warm, nutritious meals at home.
We welcome donations of Meal in a Bag Kits, which will be distributed to households throughout our community to help ensure that every family has access to a warm and nourishing meal during the year. Donations may be delivered to the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library during regular operating hours. If you would like to participate with a donation, the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library will be handing out gallon sized zipper bags with recipe cards in them so that all you have to do is fill the bag and return it to the library.
You no longer need to register for this program. If you are in need of assistance, please take what you need, with a limit of 3 items per family, per visit, to ensure there is enough to share.
