Goodbye February, hello March! Our outdoor photo booth has been a hit since December, and this month the staff have transformed it into a lucky shamrock-themed nook—complete with lights for a little extra magic! Stop by to strike a pose, take some group shots, and make memories. Don’t forget to tag us on social media with your photos!

The Library now has basic tax forms in English and Spanish (1040 and 1040 SR). You can pick up a copy of these instructional booklets and forms at the information table, located on the main floor under the bulletin board. If you need more than just the basic forms, you can download them at www.irs.gov.

We would like to remind patrons that all Library events and programs are in a public forum, and there is no expectation of privacy. The Library does take photos for the online newspaper and our social media accounts. If you or the minors under your care do not wish to appear in the Library’s photos, please tell staff members before each event so that we may honor your request for privacy.

On Tuesday, February 24th, the Library hosted our afternoon Teen Crafts, turning Pi into string art. Several students enjoyed snacks, while weaving math into fun using wooden boards, nails, hammers and string. This program was made available by the Infinite Sums Rural and Small Libraries Grant.

Ranger Chance from Holliday Lake State Park was our guest reader for the Wednesday, February 25th Story & Craft Time. He read the book “Lake Mamas and Babies” by Stan Tekiela. This book introduces baby critters (and their moms!) commonly found near lakes across North America. The kids enjoyed crafts snacks. Our next Family Story & Craft Time will be on Wednesday, March 4th, at 11:00 am only.

On Thursday, February 26th, the Library hosted their After School Crafts with MaKayla for a “Pi Art” program. MaKayla showed the participants how to create Pi Art using markers to make dots to connect lines using the numbers of Pi while enjoying pie. This program was made available by the Infinite Sums Rural and Small Libraries Grant.

Help us feed our community! The J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library is still accepting donations for our “Meal in a Bag” program, which provides easy-to-make, nourishing meals to families in need. We have made donating easy: you pick up a bag with a recipe card at the library, fill it with the non-perishable ingredients, and return it to us.
