Anyone interested in sharing or learning a skill like crocheting, knitting, quilting, needlework, sewing or other related hobbies are encouraged to attend. Enjoy good company while sharing patterns, exchanging ideas, learning new projects or teaching others. This meeting is open to anyone willing to teach or learn. Yes gentlemen, this includes you too!

GED Outreach at the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A representative from the Adult Learning Center will be at the Library to answer your questions and help you sign up for classes to earn your GED.

Retro Jamerson Library Movie Night

Family Movie Night starting at 6:00 pm in our community room featuring a film about a young swashbuckler who rescues the beautiful titled heroine from her sinister husband-to-be in a fun and fetching fairy tale for the whole family. This movie is rated PG, and refreshments will be served.

Parent Support Group

Are you the parent or legal guardian of a special needs child? Did you know that there is now a support group for you in Appomattox? On Tuesday, March 25th, starting at 6:30 pm we will meet in the community room of the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library (157 Main Street). This group was created for parents to have a safe place to meet, get emotional support, find resources you may not know are out there, and to connect families facing the same difficulties. The J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library welcomes volunteers in our library to assist with a variety of tasks. Library volunteers are needed to help shelve library materials, assist in maintaining an attractive and pleasant atmosphere in the library, help prepare materials for circulation and assist with children’s programming through setup and clean up. Please read the Volunteer Policy to know the full range of things volunteers may do in the library.

Because libraries do work with a wide variety of people, including vulnerable populations, the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library does have an application process that includes an interview, reference checks and training process.
